Focusing on my plate my mouth waters, it smells so good! It’s been a while since we had a good meal rather than whatever scraps the supply team managed to bring back. Taking a bite, I groan. Perfection. Bill really outdid himself. Taking a few more bites my stomach finally starts to settle.
The Witch on Gooseberry Lane
Happy Henry is the lookout for his town, He uses his kaleidoscope To check the forest up and down. He checks in the morning, he checks in the night For any sign of a witch That travels by flight.
A Boat and its Seamen
On a boat barely visible on the horizon, six men search the sky for a drink, salt deep in their throats. The sea fills with bloated bodies; fish drown in the salty sea. The men see the bodies bubbling as if there is water underneath.
There is a God atop the mountain.
Only I climb for what I am owed. Only my Feet weep for my bleeding hands A branch catches the skin; I Peel it away leaving a trail to follow
A Fissure in the Curtain. Oh, it's Sunday.
Of the old world when the Sun was not yet one with the Tides that move and move When the moon was the only orbit one could follow And stars with eight points twinkled around In dead light That stopped more than three years ago
I want to be remembered.
Like the light scent of lilacs carried in the breeze Like the fold marking a page in a favorite book In the way the wind moves the treetops In the way rouge stains fingertips
