Hello!

I'm N. Adeline, a writer focused on poems and short stories. I've been writing for a long time but only in these last few years have I taken writing more seriously, and have actively worked to improve my work. Much of the work I have on the site is from my time in college where I took a few writing classes for fun. I enjoyed those classes and they encouraged me to write with more dedication.

Now, I still continue to practice. While I still write poems and short stories I am also expanding into writing longer format stories! While I am by no means perfect I do hope anyone who comes across this page enjoys what they read!

I update sporadically so if you like my writing check back to see if anything new has been added!

Favorite Genres!

Romance

Enemies to lovers, mutual pining, and angst all wrapped up painfully in a slow, slow burn!

Fantasy

All types of fantasy, particularly high/low fantasy and folktales! There's much in between but I love a well written magic system.

Mystery

A mysterious event or dissapearance, having many clues  yet missing them makes for fun re-reads!

Action, Adventure

Typically in combination with other genres, high stakes and lots of movement makes for a fast-paced read!

More on writing...

Although not exactly reflected in the current writing on the site, I am a complete sucker for both reading and writing  slow burn romance. I think I am actually not capable of writing a romance story with a speedy relationship. In the same way, I like my worldbuilding slow and natural. I think a lot of the joy of reading fantasy or adventure comes from slowly learning the normality of the in-world story.

That is why I also enjoy soft world building and have tried emulating those elements into my own writing. Not everything needs to be explained, especially if it can just be inferred or, better yet, allows the audience to build theories of their own.

I like reading, not so much writing mystery. Elements may be mysterious but the story itseslf won't be a mystery. Lastly, action/adventure can be done with, without and in conjuction with pretty much any other genre and I will like it. Since I have not yet mastered fight scenes, to the level I personally like reading, I stay away from trying to write pure action.
